"Waste-to-Glaze Tile Workshop" allows you to experience the charm of eco-art firsthand. Share research findings on creating eco-friendly glazes from local waste materials (such as joss paper ash and coffee grounds) and explore the symbolic meaning of the concept of "transformation." Participants will learn the preparation, mixing, and application process of glazes by transforming waste into colorful tile artworks, demonstrating the integration of science and design and the principles of sustainable development. This workshop shares research results on eco-friendly glazes made from local waste materials such as joss paper ash and coffee grounds, and explores the symbolic meaning of the term "transformation." By converting discarded materials into vibrant tile artworks, it illustrates the transformation process from waste to creative products. Participants will engage in glaze preparation, mixing, and application to experience the integration of science and design and understand the connection between creativity and sustainable development. Activities: Waste-to-Glaze Tile Workshop Details: Date: Sunday, 9 November 2025 Time: 2 hours; Session 1: 2:00pm - 4:00pm; Session 2: 4:30pm - 6:30pm Venue: 3/F The Lounge, Hong Kong Design Centre, DX design hub, 280 Tung Chau Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon Number of Participants: 15 persons per session (Suitable for persons aged 15 or above; those under 15 must be accompanied by a parent.) Language: Cantonese Admission: HKD $30 * Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Inclement Weather Arrangements: Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above: If the signal is cancelled before 2:00 pm on the day, The Lounge will resume service within three hours; if the signal is cancelled at or after 2:00 pm, The Lounge will remain closed for the day. Black Rainstorm Warning: If The Lounge is already open, opening hours will remain unchanged. If the Black Rainstorm Warning is issued before The Lounge opens, The Lounge will not open until the warning is cancelled. If the warning is cancelled less than two hours before the scheduled closing time, The Lounge will remain closed for the day.
