【Sai Kung Fish Farm Transformation】Can REC Land Be Used This Way? Recently, I participated in a very special project. The homeowner originally owned a Sai Kung fish farm on REC recreational land and wanted to build a private space for themselves and their family. You might not know that REC land can only be used for recreational or activity purposes. However, with good design, it can be transformed into a leisure cabin, a family clubhouse, or a secret gathering spot for friends. Our design this time features modern minimalism combined with an industrial style. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows bring in natural light, while black and gray exterior walls enhance the sense of space. The interior has an open-plan hall with a multifunctional area suitable for dining, small parties, and even a small study or children's play corner. We chose modular light steel structures for the construction—this allows faster building and makes future maintenance or layout adjustments easier. The homeowner said the greatest benefit was the high degree of design freedom. Without having to rigidly follow traditional rules, even though it's not a permanent residence, every visit feels like a change of pace. Sitting on the fish farm, enjoying the sea view, sipping coffee, or having a BBQ with friends has become a rare moment of relaxation away from city life. Contact WeChat for REC land: gudekyi
