First Circle is one of the fastest growing fintechs in South-East Asia, providing financial services to under-served SMEs. We have already transformed access to credit for thousands of small businesses in the Philippines, and we are now building a full-stack Neobank that will include multi-currency bank accounts, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, payroll. We have just raised Series B, led by the IFC (the World Bank's investment arm), and we are hiring mid to senior level developers to supercharge our growth. Building in developing markets like the Philippines presents unique challenges, given the state of digital infrastructure. We are building virtually everything in-house, which is not easy, but its a lot of fun. We have a track record of solving seemingly impossible problems that defeated many other start-ups, and the opportunity ahead remains enormous. Requirements - At least 4 years experience of software development. - Great if you have worked on products that are data-heavy, B2B, or fintech, but not essential. - Full-stack mentality. You don't need to have mastered all the languages in our current tech stack (ruby on rails, kotlin, react, HTMX). You do need to be adaptable and keen to learn. - The ability and desire to consistently produce excellent work, individually and as part of a team. Occasional travel in APAC for data center projects Competencies: Experienced in system administration in Linux / RHEL for trading or business application environment In-depth knowledge of operating system, process, and kernel Familiar with x86 hardware, server networking peripherals, and data center setup Good knowledge of scripting language (Bash, Python, Perl) and system tools to quickly formulate solutions Familiar with technical troubleshooting, system recovery, root cause analysis and remediation which involves coordination of vendors and remote technical staffs Provide support to X Window, Linux desktop software, and end-user equipment to local and remote users Ability to provide balanced and quality advice, analysis, and guidance to application teams and business users on issues and requests Good IT aptitude that comply with ITIL framework (Incident Management, Change Management) Excellent time management skills Specific Qualifications Required: Degree in Information Technology related discipline, preferably with RHEL certificates At least 7 year experience in IT role of which 5 year experience as a UNIX SA or engineer At least 3 year experience of working in a multi-national IT environment with strong background in service delivery and production support for critical systems Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact efficiently with team members, other support teams, and remote technical staffs such as data center smart-hands Previous experience in an investment banking-focus business is highly appreciated Fluency in English Only for candidates who are based in Hong Kong Benefits Regular team buildings 18 leave days / year Health Insurance, allowance Annual bonus Working hours: from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday Training and certifications paths
